PROS CONS
1. Wide Asset Range 1. No Scalping
2. Educational Package

LEVERAGE

Leverage is a powerful tool which can be used to maximize a trader’s potential gains, but can also lead to significant losses, particularly for those looking to invest large sums of money.

Due to the inherent risk involved with using high levels of leverage, the EU recently capped the amount of leverage which brokers within its jurisdiction could offer. As a CySEC-regulated broker, Stratton Markets falls within this framework.

As such, retail traders are offered a maximum leverage of 1:30 for major currencies, 1:20 for minor currencies and 1:10 for commodities. Professional traders may apply for higher levels up to 1:400 for currencies.

While leverage is a useful tool which can maximize a trader’s potential profits, it can also lead to massive losses, and so traders should be fully aware of the risks involved with using this application before proceeding.

ACCOUNTS

Stratton Markets offers the following four account types:

  • Basic Account
  • Silver Account
  • Gold Account
  • Platinum Account

The account features include better spreads, Trading Alerts provided by Trading Central and exclusive access to the brokers’ Chief Market Analyst and Trading Educator, James Trescothick.

Added to this, the Stratton support team can assist traders in determining the right account for their trading needs.

Professional traders can also apply for one of the company’s Professional Accounts. The requirements include the following:

  • Trading Volume – You have opened at least 10 trades per quarter for the past year, and each trade size (volume) was at least $4,000 in Stocks/Cryptos and/or $18,500 in Forex/Commodities (with Stratton Markets or any other broker).
  • Relevant Experience – You have at least one-year experience working in the financial field in a professional position, which requires knowledge of the CFDs market and services.
  • Financial Status – Your portfolio’s size4 is equivalent to or exceed EUR 500,000; cash deposits and financial instruments inclusive.

FEES

Trading costs are built through the company’s fixed spread policy, for example, a typical spread for GBP/JPY is 0.08 with instant access to global economies.

In addition, Stratton Markets provides extensive training resources and cryptocurrencies trading with a leverage up to 1:5, and spreads on BTCUSD of 200.

Stratton Markets does not offer promotions or bonuses. Instead it focuses on offering low spreads, fast execution, trading signals and more to ensure great trading conditions without the use of bonuses or promotions.

DEPOSIT AND WITHDRAWAL

The deposit requirements will differ depending on the type of account selected, and range from $250 to $25,000 for the initial balance. Clients can fund their account using a number of standard online methods, including:

  • Visa/MasterCard
  • Wire Transfer
  • Neteller
  • Skrill

The company only takes deposits in the following currencies:

  • USD
  • GBP
  • EUR
  • CHF

A number of factors apply when making withdrawals, so that potential traders should make a note of the following:

  • The withdrawal method you choose has to match the deposit method you’ve used. For example if you used Skrill to deposit, you can only use Skrill to withdraw.
  • You can only make your first withdrawal after your account has been verified. The sooner you send your documents the sooner you can get verified.
  • If you are using credit card and your withdrawal amount exceeds the amount you deposited, you will receive the original amount back on your credit card and the rest of the amount will be transferred to you via wire transfer.

TRADING PLATFORMS

Stratton offers two trading platform options: a proprietary web-based Stratton platform, which is relatively intuitive and easy to use as well as the renowned MetaTrader4 platform.

MT4 can be downloaded on all devices and a Stratton mobile app is also available. The company does not allow scalping, but does allow hedging.

HOW TO OPEN AN ACCOUNT

The SMFX review is simple and easy. Potential traders can open a Forex trading account online in just a few minutes and start trading with some of the lowest spreads in the industry

CUSTOMER SUPPORT

Traders can contact Stratton representatives known as Strattoneers via telephone or email during Cyprus hours, 24/5.  An online form is also available for submission of queries.

The company’s team is headed by one of the very best Customer Support Managers in the business who has hand-picked support members on the basis of their knowledge and ease of communication.

Every member of the Stratton Customer Care Team is called a “Strattoneer”, who makes the effort to log check-up calls for a more one-on-one customer care experience.

Assigned Strattoneers also remain on hand to assist in the setup process, but are not able to provide trading tips, as it goes against EU regulation to provide advice from individuals who are not certified investment advisors.

EDUCATION

Stratton Markets prides itself on the strength of its educational offering, operating a full trading academy. The academy consists of a rich cache of videos, charts, courses, e-books and trading tools all aimed at showing traders how to identify and monetize market opportunities.

The academy includes a series of videos covering a wide range of topics that are useful for aspiring traders to learn about.

The company also offers e-books and a live webinar series hosted by Chief Market Analyst, Trading Educator and prominent industry speaker James Trescothick on topics pertinent to the market at the time.

RESEARCH

Stratton Markets has personalized its MT4 platform, offering technical indicators and interactive charts with up to 9-time frames, as well as multiple execution modes, order types, trading signals, and a user-friendly interface.

Stratton Markets gives traders even the most technical details, such as lot value, min-max volumes, required margins, based on transaction preferences, swap details, and trading schedules, right on the platform, for any asset and transaction.

The company also offers a free Calculator that can be used to analyse the optimal deal size, Fibonacci numbers or Pivot point can be used to verify traders’ calculations.

Added to this, a high quality Free Fundamental Analysis tools offers Live Market News Updates and an Economic Calendar, which can be found directly on the broker’s website for convenient and quickly executed trade decisions.

AWARDS

Stratton Markets is young company, having only been established in 2017, and this is the most likely reason as to why the company has not garnered any awards to date.

CONCLUSION

Stratton Markets has a relatively comprehensive offering for those looking to trade CFD instruments over a wide range of assets, particularly Forex currency pairs and global equity indices, but notably also a selection of individual major stocks and commodities.

The company offers the possibility to trade with a very easy-to-use proprietary web-based trading platform on a wide range of instruments.

The company also offers a comprehensive educational section and high quality research tools for advanced traders.

Formerly trading as Wise Trader, the company benefits from the former broker’s wealth of expertise and its regulatory status under the auspices of CySEC.

As such, the company provides reliable trading conditions with a range of instruments, a decent account offering and a powerful proprietary trading platform.

The platform is packed with tools and features which enable seamless trading and extensive analysis.

With an average spread of 1.8, and going as low as 1.4, Stratton’s offer is one of the most competitive in the industry.

These figures are further paired with comparatively high leverage. Clients can choose to deposit in USD, GBP, EUR, and CHF through an array of payment methods, including Credit/Debit card, Wire Transfer, Neteller, and Skrill.

Withdrawals can also be executed through all of the above. Traders in their client areas, requiring no additional broker interaction, can open both deposits and withdrawals very easily.

The company sticks to a fixed spread which enables stability during the trading process under any market conditions.

Experienced traders will also enjoy more competitive trading conditions along with extra services that enhance trading capabilities, like Free VPS, signals and more.
