Sasol Company Overview
Sasol was formed in 1950 in Sasolburg, South Africa, and is a diversified energy and chemical company. Sasol Khanyisa Overview
The Zulu word “Khanyisa,” meaning “to shed light on,” is of African origin. When developing Sasol Khanyisa, Sasol looked at some of the major B-BBEE transactions in South Africa to see what components worked best. Sasol South Africa is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sasol. After Sasol Khanyisa is completely implemented, it will strive to raise Sasol South Africa to at least 25% effective (direct and indirect) B-BBEE ownership. On June 1st, 2018, Sasol introduced Sasol Khanyisa; thus far, over 230,000 shareholders have joined the program.
