The fund managed to record its lowest ever vacancy rates, at 0.6% for office space, 1.4% for industrial and 1.1% for retail. Results were boosted by strong performance from Investec Australia Property Fund, which produced full year dividend growth in ZAR of 34%, with capital return on investment totalling 25.9%. Overall, Investec Property Fund grew profits to R1.1 billion for the year, compared to R884 million the prior year, which resulted in a strengthening Investec Property Fund share price.

The fund’s defensive portfolio should allow it to endure the future headwinds forecast for South Africa’s economy.
